Alcanar placed in the south of Catalonia, close to the river Sénia, were cultivated from very ancient times. A testimony of these utilizations we find it in the Iberian village of la Moleta del Remei, placed close to the chapel of the same name and that was surrounded with olive trees that for centuries were the majority growing.
Nowadays Alcanar's area is almost exclusively planted of citrus fruits and only 10 millenary olive trees, 7 of which are in a municipal estate placed between the Remei chapel and the Iberian villge of la Moleta, which stay both of this form enriched with the presence of these olive trees. The town hall and the commonwealth enabled this Area that can be visited free. The access to Alcanar's Area is for the road TP-3318 of Alcanar to Ulldecona, to approximately 500 m. Of the same one and it is placed later of the chapel of the Remei.
