Barra Alta - Castellón

Around 6 miles from the Islas Columbretes (Columbretes Islands) in the open sea, volcanic lava was deposited on the seabed, creating a landscape with rocky canyons, arches and caves, all enveloped by totally transparent waters that are home to an explosive variety of fauna, including barracudas, Toothed Bream and immense schools of white seabream and Common Base, while the substrate is delicately covered by colourful vegetation.

Castellón wine route

To the north of the Region, is the essence of the most traditional agricultural life in the province of Castellón. Enjoy good signature wines, taste local cuisine, or rest in unique accommodations. Unique spaces where you can live authentic experiences. Connected by an authentic Via Augusta, the towns of Villafamés, Cabanes, Les Useres, Benlloch and Vall d'Alba bring remarkable sites together where visitors can enjoy the world of wine.

Inner Grossa - Columbretes

The scuba route will begin at the same anchoring buoy No. 8 where the bottom, beside a rocky promontory, at a depth of just four metres, drops steeply to 15 metres. The proposal is to head for the north end of the island, encountering a profusion of large stones and rocky platforms along the way, like a labyrinth where huge lobsters hide taking refuge from the everpresent dusky grouper.

Outer Grossa - Columbretes

From the anchoring point situated on the bay of the Grossa island, head for the channel between this and the first islet El Mascarat, leading out to the open sea. In order to conserve the air in the tank, it is best to swim to the beginning of the channel so as to go below the surface there, although you must beware of the possible existence of currents outwards, which if very strong it would be advisable not to go out of the inlet.

Castellón Ethnological Museum

The building that is currently home to the Ethnological Museum is a typical 18th century manor house in which the bases for the homogenisation of spelling for Valencian, known as the “Normes de Castelló” or “Normes del 32”, were approved, and in which, since 1931, the Castellón Culture Society had been based.
