This peculiar winery with a circular structure dates back to 1891. It was built with noble materials: rough-cut stone, solid brick, iron and wood; the product of nineteenth-century modernism. Known for its cone-shaped roof and ceiling, it consists of 2 buildings: a wine cellar and offices of the Regulatory Council. Today it is the Grapevine and Wine Museum of the Region of Valencia, in addition to the headquarters of the Regulatory Council and Wine Lovers Group.

Visiting Hours: 

Located next to the church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the museum’s halls exhibit an abundant amount of archaeological remains. The part of the museum dedicated to oenology shows the complete process of winemaking: from the preparation of the land, pruning of the vine and the harvest, as well as the passage of the grape through the winery and the bottling process. It also includes rooms dedicated to traditional clothing of the region and rural and urban housing between the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The cloister of the convent is worth a visit to see its baroque vault.

Under the Historic-Artistic Centre of La Villa, there is a labyrinthine and interesting set of caves that have undergone different uses throughout history as homes, shelters, ossuaries, silos and wineries. These caves contain vessels that date back to the Middle Age, proof of Requena’s ancestral vocation to the art of cultivating vines and making wine.

We are located 3 km from our vineyards in Campo Arcís, only a few meters from the village centre. Our vineyards are not very large, but they boast a surprising variety of soils, giving a unique organoleptic richness to our wines. With more than over 90 years of winemaking and thanks to the nature of the soil, our wines offer a great fruity richness, body and balance.

The winery is located in the interior of the province of Valencia, in the region of La Plana de Utiel – Requena. We produce wines using grapes from our own Designation of Origin. All of our vineyards are certified with the Organic Farming seal, which means our wines are organic wines. Phytosanitary products have never been used in our vineyard, so the land is alive. It is home to a variety of microfauna, which is very important for the breakdown of organic matter.

Bodegas Utielanas is the trade name of Utiel Agricultural Cooperative. Founded in 1927, it was established as the result of the joining together and know-how of farmers in the region. It is considered a jewel of Valencian industrial architecture. Today, all of our wines are produced by members of the Cooperative under the Utiel – Requena Designation of Origin. Our wine has a proven quality and goes through rigorous physicochemical and organoleptic controls as required by the Protected Designation of Origin regulatory boards.

The historic bodega of Murviedro Winery will allow you to connect with the traditions of the Utiel – Requena Region. The winery aims to bring the world of wine closer to all kinds of audiences, guiding them to discover our history and passion for wine, encouraging them discover novelties in the world of wine.

It has 4 double bedrooms and a loft with a dining room, fireplace and kitchen. The facilities include a common area and an American billiards table for guests free of charge.
